Luxury Island Accommodation - Mozambique
Quil�lea Island resort welcomed it's first official
guests to the Island in November 2002. The island resort
accommodates 18 guests in 9 luxury "island villas". Each
villa is constructed entirely with indigenous materials
and handcrafted timber, opening onto a private veranda
with panoramic sea views. A comfortable 45 square metres
in size, every villa is complete with an antique
stylised shower, vanity and fittings. Large windows
afford magnificent views and allow the sea breeze to
waft through the entire villa.
Indian Ocean Island Activities
Spend your days simply soaking up the sun by the
swimming pool or on the pristine, white beaches or
choose from our many adventure activities on offer on
the island. Diving, snorkelling, fly fishing, surf
casting, sport fishing, canoeing, island exploration,
swimming, historical tours, dhow sailing trips and bird
watching are all available on the island. The island has
its own marine pavilion, which is a fully equipped
fishing and PADI dive centre. Sport fishing and deep-sea
angling are offered outside the sanctuary where game
fish are plentiful.
Mozambique Diving
Quilálea offers a full range of superb diving and
snorkelling experiences. For both beginners and advanced
divers, the reefs around the island provide some of the
best unexplored diving in the world. Indian Ocean Sport Fishing
Sport fishing and deep-sea angling are offered outside
the protected sanctuary. The experienced skipper and
crew know all the hot spots, so novice and veteran
anglers alike can enjoy these unspoilt fishing waters.
Indian Ocean Island Walks
Take the time to discover the magic of Quilálea with an
island walk. View the diverse flora and fauna on the
island and immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the
island evident in the serene landscapes and deserted
beaches. Quirimbas Sailing
The newest addition to the activities available on
Quilálea is to embark on a sailing trip around the
Quirimbas on our 38 foot Sailing Yacht, the Kiraku.
Charter the yacht for a few hours, the day, or stay
overnight with our Sailing package.
Natural rock walls, makuti thatch, and colonial ceiling
fans keep you cool by day. The island-style furniture is
crafted from indigenous teak and mahogany by local
carpenters in the creole Muani style. A king-size bed
draped in netting completes the romantic African/Arabian
luxury. Every villa has the pleasure of overlooking the
sparkling Indian Ocean.

Our traditional sailing dhow, comfortably furnished and
locally built by hand in the time honoured method is the
idyllic way to watch the sun setting over the sparkling
