Benguerua
Island
In a National Marine Park in Mozambique, lies an Archipelago of
off shore islands known as The Bazaruto Archipelago. There are
three main islands known as Margaruque, Benguera and Bazaruto.
On the second largest island, Benguera lies idyllic Marlin
Lodge. The Island is set amid translucent waters flecked with
dhow sails and rich in marine life - an unspoilt paradise for
those seeking a haven of peace, something extraordinary.
Benguera Island was originally named "Santa Antonio" by
Portuguese explorers and was later named "Benguera" after a
local Tribal chief. The island is approximately 11km in length
and 5,5km wide and lays 14km offshore from the mainland and the
town of Vilanculos
Island Tour
Visit the Northern point of the island, climb the sand dunes,
with breathtaking views of 2 mile reef & Bazaruto Dune. Visit
fresh water lakes on the island, learn more on the fauna & flora
and local culture Dhow Sunset Cruise
Sail on one of the traditional Mozambican Dhows, whilst the sun
sets over the Archipelago. Duration 1 hour
Marlin Lodge Luxury Suite
The luxury
Suite is the same as the Luxury Chalet but is more than double
the size. Featuring its own relaxing lounge area with a private
bar as well as a separate casual lounge area, a spacious balcony
and direct private access to the beach. The bathroom in this
chalet is open plan, this includes the shower and toilet
facilities. The Luxury Suite is ideally suited for guests
seeking a space, privacy, style and luxury. It has a roof fan as
well as air-conditioning. A maximum of 2 guests in the Luxury
Suite.
Marlin Lodge Executive Suite
These 3 Suites are the most recent refurbished rooms. Their size
is about 100 square meters including the En-Suite bathroom, each
Suite features 2 lounges, a built in mini bar, 2 basin areas,
vanity area, inside and outside showers. They all feature a king
size four poster bed, with air-conditioning, and a roof fan. The
patios have a hammock, sitting area, and private walkway to the
beach.
These suites are the pride of Marlin Lodge, and aimed at the
more up market traveler. Maximum of two guests in a suite.

vairy from, semi-formal in the open air dining room, to the

stars" A Unique Setting
The elegant elivated wooden structures snakes along the back of
the chalets, connecting them to the main area. and is
beautifully integrated into the sensitive Island environment.
The center-piece is a living-dining area where one can retreat
from the African sun, sip on a Marlin Lodge cocktail or lazily
catch up on some reading. Our freshwater pool is set in a glade
of Coconut and Ilala palms. Upon occasion lunch is served here
which creates an origional African Island setting.
Be Accommodated in Style and Ambiance... Marlin's 19 En-Suite
Chalets stretch along the beach of Flamingo Bay. Each sea-facing
chalet has a private patio with a walkway down to the sandy
white beach. The wood-reed-and-thatch chalets are a blend of
elegance and African Island beauty.

African style bush bath, the patio is transformed into a
secluded bush hide away, with two galvanised baths filles with
warm water, bath salts and fragrant oils, watch the afternoon
drift into evening like the dhows softly sailing along." Pansy Island Excursion
Pansy Island is situated North of Benguerua Island, and a boat
transfer is approx 1 hour, Lunch is served on arrival set up
under colorful umbrellas and rugs, spread out on pure white
sand. Water sports are also offered, or just a quiet stroll to
search for the unique pansy shell.
Marlin Lodge Classic Chalet
These Chalets are a unique blend of Luxury, romance but yet a
more rustic combination. The classic chalets have undergone a
soft re-furbishment and have all received the new linen,
furniture and little extras. The Marlin Classic Chalets all have
a roof fan and new mosquito netting ,with an En-Suite bathroom.
The roof is thatch and the walls are cladded with Mozambican
reed, and are all west facing , towards the sunset. Each Chalet
has its own balcony with deck chairs as well as direct access to
the beach in front of the room. Maximum of two guests per
chalet. Selected classic chalets share a balcony. Marlin Lodge Luxury
Chalet
These Chalets are the fully and newly renovated style.
These rooms have four-poster beds, soft bedding, beautiful
furniture, roof fan as well as air-conditioning and many extras.
The roof is thatch and cladded with canvas to give a tented
feel; the walls are a combination of washed plaster on brickwork
and Mozambique reed. They are all west facing towards the
sunset. The bathrooms in these chalets are open plan, this
includes the shower and toilet facility's. Of these 6 luxury
chalets 4 of them are in a family unit, where 2 chalets share a
common balcony, and walkway to the beach a total of 2 units is
available. A maximum of 2 guests per Luxury Chalet.
