Come and experience the luxury of the intimate Jackalberry Lodge, situated within the Thornybush Private Game Reserve, one of the world's premier big five game viewing areas, in South Africa.

Accommodation
Experience the comfort of chalet style rooms offering understated luxury, sumptuous en suite bathrooms with feature bath, double handbasins as well as indoor and outdoor showers. Choose from the Luxury Suite, the Family Room or 5 Standard Chalet Style Rooms.
Guest rooms have two twin beds or one king size bed. The family room has two twin beds and one queen size bed. All rooms are equipped with mini-bars, electronic room safe, hair-dryer, tea and coffee-making facilities, telephone, mosquito nets and air-conditioning. All rooms open onto patios.
Facilities include the Swimming Pool, the Curio Shop, Conference Facilities, the Library and Boma.

Location
Jackalberry Lodge is situated in the Thornybush Game Reserve on the edge of the Kruger National Park in South Africa.
Scheduled daily flights to Eastgate Airport on South African Express Airways in pressurized turbine and jet aircraft, approximately a one-hour flight from Johannesburg International Airport.
Eastgate Airport, booking code HDS, is located outside of Hoedspruit and is approximately 25 minutes by road from Thornybush Game Reserve.
Road transfers from Eastgate Airport to the reserve are available.
Chartered flights can be arranged directly into Jackaberry Lodge.
Coordinates: 24 30'70 sec S & 31 08'40 sec E Runway: 04/22, Land uphill 22 1000 metres (grass/gravel). Elevation: 1700ft. Radio frequency: 126.4 MHz (Hoedspruit Military).
NB: Always use right-hand circuits when landing on runway 22 and left-hand for 04.

A Typical Day
A typical day begins with a morning game drive in open safari vehicles guided by highly trained rangers and trackers. More than sixty species of wildlife can be found in the immediate vicinity of the lodge, including lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, elephant, hyena and cheetah.
Excited about the prospect of seeing Africa's "Big Five" at close quarters?
After your game drive, you can look forward to a wonderful bush brunch. An intimate table set for two awaits you.
Later, relax on your patio or by the swimming pool, while enjoying the tranquil setting. Don't forget about afternoon tea!

Afternoon game drives offer more opportunities to view wildlife, including more than 280 species of birds, which have been recorded in this paradise.
The majestic Drakensberg Mountains provide a spectacular backdrop for you as you enjoy "sundowners" and savoury snacks in this amazing setting.
Evenings are filled with sumptuous dinners to be enjoyed "al fresco" at the "boma" or inside by the fire.
