Ivory Lodge Overview
The Lodge has been built on the banks of the Sabie River with magnificent views, extending onto the open sand banks of the Kruger National Park. The Lodge faces due south and is approximately 100 meters upstream of River Lodge. The entrance area is separate from the main lodge in order to ensure that guests arriving and departing have no impact on other overnight guests.
The main and entrance area comprise a private lounge, wooden viewing decks, board room, wine cellar, health spa, curio shop & both an indoor and open-air (Boma) dining area. Ivory Lodge is about African Euro elegance, sophistication yet simplicity, boldness yet balance, ebony & ivory, perfect harmony, exclusivity, sensitivity & complete privacy.

Ivory Lodge Bedroom
There are 6 ultra luxurious suites with en-suite bathroom, outdoor & inside shower, courtyard, lounge with fireplace, wooden viewing deck, patio & private plunge pool. The bedroom & bathroom area are air-conditioned and overhead fans cool the bedrooms and lounges. All rooms have telephone and Internet access. The suites are 165m² in size and are positioned at least 20 meters apart, being linked to all areas by raised wooden walkways. They all have breathtaking views over the Sabie River, a setting where game viewing can be done from the luxury of one's private suite - Africa's finest bedrooms!

Ivory Lodge Lounge
A place to relax next to an open fireplace, read a book or share, whilst savouring a glass of red wine, the stories of the day's safari. The lounge is equipped with a full size fridge stocked with fresh fruits, yoghurts, chocolates and savoury snacks, tea and coffee making facilities, a service hatch to enhance privacy, internet points and a large open wooden fireplace. The large sliding doors open up onto your viewing deck, which has a spotting scope to assist with getting close to the abundance of game that drinks from the Sabie River in front of the suite.

Ivory Lodge Swimming Pool
The suites have their own private rim flow plunge pools with magnificent views over the Sabie River, whilst cooling down from the hot African sun, watch animals as they quench their thirst a mere stones throw away. The pools are lit so taking a swim in the warm summer evenings is a must!
Ivory Lodge Bathroom
There are six ultra-luxurious suites. Each one at least 30 metres away from its nearest neighbour for absolute privacy. Each one offering an en-suite bathroom with an indoor out door shower. Each featuring both air-conditioning and ceiling fans so guests have the option of how they would like to cool the interior of their suite against the heat of the african day.

Ivory Lodge Wine Cellar
Our new premier wine cellar adds a new element to the guest experience. Our guests are welcome to enjoy a presentation and wine tasting in our cellar, which holds some of South Africa 's most outstanding wines. These can then be ordered to accompany the dinner.
Ivory Lodge Health Spa

The epitome of every stay at Ivory Lodge is the luxurious care one indulges in at our Lalamuka Health Spa. Our therapists offer most treatments in the privacy of ones suite. Massages can be done in your courtyard outside where you can become one with nature whilst gazing across the endless wonders of the African bush. (list treatments and prices)

Ivory Lodge Cuisine
The Lion Sands culinary experience is as diverse and interesting as the African bushveld itself. Janine Hobbs, our Executive Chef, together with her team use imagination, passion and natural flair to produce the most delicious and unique food. Whether it is buffets on the banks of the Sabie River under glittering starlit skies with lions roaring in the distance or fine dining under magical African Acacias, Janine and her Chefs produce the most amazing dishes which carry the exotic flair of local culture. During your stay you will be offered interesting delights such as Zebra & Black Cherry Potjie, Crocodile Kebabs with a Lemon Butter & Apricot Sauce, Blesbok Fillet stuffed with Peanut Butter & Fresh Coriander or even Baby Quails stuffed with Fresh Figs & Porcini Brie Cheese.

River Lodge Overview
The Lodge has been built on the banks of the Sabie River. It faces due east, catching the sun as it rises over the Kruger National Park. There are 18 luxurious thatched bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, outdoor & inside shower & wooden viewing deck. The bedroom area is air-conditioned with an overhead fan. All rooms have mini-bar & telephone access. The rooms are linked to all areas by raised wooden walkways.
The lodge comprises the following: a private lounge and bar, 2 swimming pools, wooden viewing decks, a secluded bird hide, private hammocks, conference room, health spa, curio shop & both an indoor and open-air (Boma) dining area. River Lodge is the soul of Lion Sands. It is positioned on a site with trees dating back 800 years. The lodge is about spirit, warmth, nature & relaxation. It is hosted by a family of staff that will make it feel like home from home. Relax, enjoy and experience African hospitality at its finest.

River Lodge Bedroom
The rooms at River Lodge offer respite and protection from the Lowveld heat. The interior is a tranquil purple and cream haven, cool in the summer, cosy in the winter. The bathroom, with its tranquil look and pebble-inlaid floors complements the bushveld well. Each bedroom has its own deck with a view of the river.

River Lodge Lounge
Scenes in the Lounge: It's modern yet its fabric is distinctly ethnic. It's open and cool in the summer yet comfortably warm in the winter. The lounge chairs are inviting yet the handsome bar is enticing. The coffee table books are impressive yet the ranger's tale is intriguing.
River Lodge Swimming Pool
The swimming pool is arguably the best game viewing spot in the summer months. With an uninterrupted view of the river and the rising bush beyond it is not uncommon to spot an elephant or giraffe while doing backstroke.

River Lodge Health Spa
The Health Spa is appropriately named 'Lalamuka' which is the Shangaan word for 'unwind'. Facial therapies, aromatherapy, reflexology, massages, aqua treatments - whatever your medicine, you'll come out feeling naturally fit.
River Lodge Boma
Leaving no sense untouched, your tastebuds will also experience delights that will be quite unforgetable. Of course, the enviroments in which you are entertained with culinary pleasures may have something to do with it!

Bush breakfast
*Guests are driven to either the river hide or one of the open plains were breakfast is served. A full table is set and the guests are invited to join the animals, which can often be seen from the breakfast venue.
African Breakfast Table
Fresh fruit juices, honey roasted muesli, assorted breakfast cereals, fruit yoghurts, Greek yoghurt, fruit compote, South African cheeses, biscuit platter, preserved melon and figs, sun-ripened Lowveld fruits, country smoked ham, air dried salami, smoked kudu, seven seed bread, croissants, muffins, preserves and wild honey.
